Silent Angel Bonn N8 8-Port Audiophile-Grade Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch
- TCXO (Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator): This is the "heart" of the device. It provides a clock accuracy of 0.1 ppm—roughly 50 times more precise than the clocks found in standard switches. This ensures more accurate data packet timing.
- SANA (Silent Angel Noise Absorber): The interior of the chassis is lined with a specialized EMI-absorbing material to prevent internal electromagnetic interference from bleeding into the signal path.
- Medical-Grade Power Adapter: It ships with a power supply designed to minimize electrical leakage and high-frequency noise.
- Low-Noise Circuitry: The board layout includes power isolation circuits for both the clock and the main system to prevent crosstalk.
Bonn N8
The Audiophile-Grade Network Switch That Sets the Standard
Presenting Bonn N8: a network switch purpose-designed for High Resolution Music Streaming. Audiophiles seeking to build a Dedicated Audio Network that delivers the purest possible audio quality at an attainable price will find Bonn N8 the ideal solution. Bonn N8 enables music lovers to create a stable and isolated audio zone, completely independent of household network traffic; as a result, data is transmitted with less interference, more accurately-timed data packets and a purity and freedom from distortion that maximizes the true potential of fine HiFi systems.
Optimized for Superior Audio Quality
Many High End Audio manufacturers utilize low-cost commodity components in their network switches: even very expensive ones. Although acceptable for basic data transmission, these parts cannot adequately support an audio-grade network. Thus, the Bonn N8 was designed to deliver superior audio quality by specifying critical components without compromise or regard for cost. At a time when traditional High End companies are repackaging standard switches as “Audio-Grade,” Bonn delivers true Audiophile Grade Performance at a fraction of the price.
A highly permeable EMI absorber (>120 @1MHz) is deployed inside the enclosure to reduce electrical interference.
Noise-filtering Power Adapter
Our Medical-grade power adapter ensures stable power and precise system function.
Exclusive Clock Module, TCXO
Silent Angel’s 0.1ppm TCXO (Temperature Compensation Crystal Oscillator) is 50 times more precise than the generic Crystal Clock used by our competitors, resulting in lower latency issues and reduced jitter effects.
Jitter Effect Improvement
When transmitting high-frequency network packets, distortion is a common artifact. The Bonn N8 effectively lowers jitter to 369ps whereas typical switches present at 705ps
Designed for HD Music Streaming
The Bonn N8 enables an isolated “Network Ecosystem” to create an independent low-noise, low-interference HiFi audio zone that effectively separates your audio devices from household traffic and reduces the degradation of network broadcasting storms and latency caused by bandwidth-intensive activities from PCs and other devices. The result is greater signal purity with lower noise, distortion and greater resolution of fine detail.
Optimized for Music Applications
- Optimized for Roon infrastructure; for example, supporting a network composed of Rhein Z1 as a Roon Core server or Munich M1 as a Roon Ready player.
- Optimized for high-resolution streaming services such as Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify and more.
- Optimized for playing music collections from NAS (Network Attached Storage). Works well with multiple brands including QNAP, Synology, WD NAS.
