In 2005, when founder, Judd Armstrong, wanted to swim while listening to music he started looking into design possibilities by gathering experts in mechanical and electrical design. Things got serious in 2006 with the formation of JayBird Gear LLC. Concepts ran freely and evolved into meeting a slightly different need, the need for tiny wireless earbuds for above-water sports and fitness activities.
